The Committee on Legal Opinions seeks to foster national standards of
customary practice for giving and receiving legal opinions in business
transactions by being the leading resource within the Section of
Business Law on opinion practice and the coordinator of the Section's
activities in providing guidance to opinion givers and recipients. The
Committee issues reports on opinion practice, monitors case and
regulatory law developments affecting legal opinion practice, conducts
educational programs and works with other committees of the Section on
legal opinion projects and programs.
