The mission of the Committee on Diversity is to lead the Section's
efforts to recruit and retain lawyers of color, women lawyers, lawyers
with disabilities, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender lawyers,
young lawyers, and law students ("Diverse Lawyers") for active
involvement in the work and leadership of the Section and to ensure
that the Section is addressing issues of relevance to these
constituencies. The Committee aims to increase the flow of information
about the Section and its committees to Diverse Lawyers as well as
strengthen the ties between the Section and Commission on Racial and
Ethnic Diversity in the Profession, the Commission on Women in the
Profession, the Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law, the
Young Lawyers Division, and the Law Student Division.
