Mission
The Task Force on Gatekeeper Regulation and the Profession has the following mission:
(1) To respond to initiatives by the U.S. Department of Justice and other organizations that would impact on the attorney-client relationship in the context of anti-money laundering enforcement;
(2) To review and evaluate relevant Association policies and the Model Rules concerning the ability of attorneys to report on client activity, and to develop a position on any Gatekeeper Initiative proposal;
(3) To identify issues and programs for appropriate Association action and involvement, including the development of additional Association policies and legal education programs; and
(4) To solicit the views of appropriate ABA entities and suggest to appropriate ABA entities that they consider development of new policies if any policy gaps are apparent.
