Juvenile Justice Standards

The Juvenile Justice Standards, prepared by the American Bar Association and the Institute of Judicial Administration, are invaluable tools for promoting reform in juvenile justice. They are also useful resources for anyone involved in juvenile justice administration and education, such as judges, defense attorneys, prosecutors, court personnel, and youth advocates. The Standards are comprised of 24 volumes, listed below, each focusing on a different topic. Every volume presents the standard in full, analyzes the issues, and provides case citations and suggestions for further reading.

A condensed volume of Annotated Standards is available from the Criminal Justice Section; click here to order. The National Criminal Justice Reference Service will temporarily lend individual volumes, for $15 each; you can contact NCJRS at 800.851.3420 (note that the Standards are not available from the NCJRS web site).
