Criminal Justice Section Midyear Meeting

 

The Criminal Justice Section Midyear Meeting will feature two CLE programs from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm on February 10, 2006 addressing Juvenile Justice issues.  The programs are entitled, “Sex Trafficking and Alternatives to Secure Detention,” and “Roper v. Simmons.”  They will occur at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, 151 East Wacker Street and are free of charge.  The Section Nominating Committee will meet to nominate a slate of officers and council members and the Council Executive Committee will meet. The Juvenile Justice and the International Law Committees also plan to meet.

National Institute: White Collar Crime

 

The 20th year anniversary of this National Institute will again bring together judges, federal, state, and local prosecutors, other law enforcement officials, defense attorneys, corporate in-house counsel, and members of the academic community to discuss timely issues of concern to white collar practitioners. Substantive topics, among others, include criminal antitrust enforcement, money laundering, health care fraud and abuse and securities fraud.

Criminal Justice Section Spring Meeting

 

Experience the rustic charm and beauty of California’s Napa Wine Country, acquire valuable CLE credits and visit a world renowned spa that is known for its extraordinary therapy for the soul.  A CLE Program and Reception will be held April 27, 3:00 pm-6:30 pm at the San Francisco Federal Courthouse.  Join prosecutors, defense lawyers, academics, judges and others involved in criminal law for another  CLE Program, Friday, 3:00 pm-5:00 pm at the Napa Valley Marriott Hotel and Spa that will focus on the latest updates regarding DNA.  Panelists will include the country’s leading criminal justice experts. 

 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to expand your expertise by attending committee meetings and participating in discussions that will concentrate on important practice and substantive issues in the field.  The Defense, Innocence Committee to Ensure the Integrity of the Criminal Process, Juvenile Justice and other Committees welcome you to network and exchange ideas about important topics in your profession.  The Section Reception Friday evening will enhance liaisons with your colleagues.

Justice For All: National Symposium on the Role of Forensic Science in the Evolution of Criminal Justice Reform in the U.S.
