CHAIR’S MESSAGEgg
|

Robert M.A. Johnson
|
Our Section is the only national organization that provides
thoughtful balanced criminal justice policy. For defenders, judges, academics,
prosecutors and correction officials to come together on criminal justice
policy is extraordinary. Such
discussions are at times heated but result in policy that strikes a balance
between competing interests.
Chairing the Criminal Justice Section has been an honor. Moving from state to federal criminal
justice issues and from prosecution concerns to defenders concerns have
made for an interesting year. A
review of the year’s activities may be found in the Section's Annual Report. Our very productive year would not have been possible without our
excellent Section Director, Jack Hanna. The Section is in good hands with Chair-Elect
Steve Saltzburg next association year, and Anthony A. Joseph "AJ"
following Steve. Thank you to all of you who have participated in Section
activities. You make it the
respected voice of our profession.
