Dred Scott! 150 Years Later

Against the backdrop of the 150-year anniversary of the Dred Scott decision, a panel of leading attorneys and legal historians explored the significance and extraordinary role this historic decision has played in our legal system especially in the criminal justice system as new legislation strips federal courts of jurisdiction to hear petitions from detainees for writs of habeas corpus and the debate over property rights versus personal freedom continues.
