Hannah Yancy - ABA Law Student Division Liaison
Hi, my name is Hannah Yancy, and I’m your ABA Law Student Division liaison to the Center for Professional Responsibility during the 2007-08 school year. I am a third year law student at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.
I am excited to be your liaison for this year because ethics are important to me, and should be to you. Everyone has heard jokes about lawyers; most of them are not very flattering. Some of these stereotypes come from unethical people damaging the name of our profession. Many people don't understand how important it is to adhere to professional conduct.
When I took the professional responsibility class at my school, I realized that there are a lot of rules and standards that we must live up to; but it is worth it. It is worth it to me to work in a profession where I am respected and treated fairly because of my ethics and professionalism. I hope the same for you.
