Mission

The mission of the Electronic Commerce Committee is to monitor, assess and, where appropriate, comment and make recommendations upon legislative, regulatory and other developments in electronic commerce, electronic business and electronic contracting, as those developments pertain to public procurement and procurement law at the Federal, State and local levels. In addition, the Committee will provide a forum for education and exchange of information among members of the Section on issues pertaining to E-Commerce.

  • Electronic purchases from GSA Schedule contracts by e-commerce.
  • "Electronic signature" laws
  • Privacy issues raised by the availability of information on the Web.

Committee Meetings

This is a reminder that the E Commerce Committee will meet during the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco. The meeting will take place on Sunday August 10, 2003 at 4 p.m. in the Mark Hopkins Inter-Continental Hotel, Willard Room, which is located on the 2nd Level of the hotel.

New Web Conference and Chat Room Capabilities

The Public Contract Law Electronic Commerce Committee has added a new method for Section members to keep abreast of, and discuss the current developments in Electronic Commerce issues of interest to public contract law practitioners. Visit this new capability at "E-Commerce and Government Contracting" When you first enter the conference area you will not see the E-Commerce Conference as this conference has restricted access. To gain access, please register as a New User and complete the user profile section. Then, email your Conference User ID to the E-Commerce administrator and you will be added to the E-Commerce list of users. After you have been added to the access list, you will be able to see and participate in the conference.
