Battlespace Procurement Task Force pclbar

Mission

Serve as a clearinghouse for contemporary information, address issues relating to contingency and deployment procurement law, provide real-time information to members of the Section, and advise the Council of significant developments worthy of comment or other action by the Section.

Committee Activities

Issues currently being discussed by the Task Force membership include: force protection and contractor liability; command and control of contractors on the Battlespace; rapid acquisition authority to respond to combat emergencies; contract off-loading in support on contingency operations, small business participation in Battlespace procurements; expanded use of personal services contracts; Defense Base Act insurance, and dispute resolution on the Battlespace.

Committee Meetings

The next meeting of the Task Force is still scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2005, at Venable's D.C. office (575 7th Street, NW), beginning at 11:00 (lunch can be purchased for an $8.00 donation).
