Committee Activities

The committee meets on the third Tuesday of every month to discuss new developments and significant issues involving the resolution of bid protests in federal agency procurements. The committee also conducts ongoing studies of the efficacy of the system for resolving bid protest within the agencies, the GAO, and judicial forums.

Committee Meetings

For the year 2004-2005, the Committee normally meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Noon at the offices of Crowell & Moring, 1001 Pennsylvania Ave., N.W. Come to 11th floor using the South (Penn. Ave. end) elevator bank.

The ABA Bid Protest Committee will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at Crowell & Moring LLP, 1001 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C.

Our meeting will be on Past Performance Issues in Bid Protests. We will present a panel discussion on past performance issues from three different perspectives: the contractor, the agency, and the GAO. Our guest speakers will be Ralph White from the GAO, Jeffrey Kessler of the U.S. Army Materiel Command, and Catherine Pollack from Northrop Grumman Corporation. We will be discussing problems associated with past performance evaluations as well as recent bid protest decisions, including the GAO's recent decision in University Research Company, LLC.

Please feel free to extend this invitation to others in your organization who might be interested in attending; it is not necessary to be an ABA member to attend. Lunch will be provided for a fee of $8.00. Please RSVP ASAP (and no later than noon on Monday, July 18, 2005) to Tami Kofford, 202/264-2917 or tkofford@crowell.com, so we can get an accurate count for lunch.

Also, mark your calendars for future Bid Protest Committee meetings, which will generally be held the third Tuesday of each month.
