Program Description

Preparing an estate plan that protects the interests of beneficiaries with special needs is just the first step.  If that plan is not properly administered, even the best drafted documents will not ensure optimal protection and services for the intended beneficiary.

This final program in our three-part series will cover:

  • Proper trust investment
  • Planning disbursements to protect eligibility for public benefits
  • Protecting against fraudulent claims for reimbursement
  • Accounting
  • Fees
  • Working with a professional trustee
  • Working with a family trustee
  • Proper and improper trust disbursements
  • Saying "no" to beneficiaries (and their families)
  • When to say "yes" to beneficiaries (and their families)
  • Wrapping up trust administration
  • Stories from the trenches
