Program Description

This program will present methods to assist you in obtaining a satisfactory resolution for your client in a custody dispute.  The faculty will discuss what your client can do to help build a case as well as to prepare your client for the forensic examination. The panel will also explore the role of the court appointed guardian or Custody Investigator.

Program Faculty

Bart Resnicoff has practiced matrimonial and family law for almost 30 years. In 1996, he was designated a Family Law Trial Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, and has since been recertified. He was also designated a "Superlawyer" in family law for the NY metro area in 2007. He was elected to the ABA Council of the Section of Family Law in 2006 and is currently chair of the SCOPE and Correlations Committee. Mr. Resnicoff is also a past co-chair and vice chair of the Child Support Committee as well as a past-chair of the Marital Property Committee. He is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and its Substantive Law Relating to the Family Committee. Additionally, he is a member of the Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk County Bar Associations and their matrimonial and family law committees.

Lisa M. Williams is an associate in the Law Offices of Barton R. Resnicoff and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 2004.  Ms. Williams’ practice is devoted primarily to divorce litigation, including family court as well as child custody and support.

 

CLE Credit*

1.5 hours of CLE credit in 60-minute states/1.8 hours of CLE credit in 50-minute states have been requested in states accrediting ABA teleconferences and live audio webcasts.*

NY-licensed attorneys: This non-transitional CLE program has been approved for experienced NY-licensed attorneys in accordance with the requirements of the New York State CLE Board for 1.5 total NY CLE credits.

The following states accept ABA teleconferences for mandatory CLE credit:
AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, KY, LA, ME, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NH, NM, NV, NY, OK, OR, RI, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY.

*States currently not accrediting ABA Teleconferences: DE, IN, PA, KS, OH
