When antagonism runs high in divorces or other disputes, it's one thing for the parties to express commitment to an amicable resolution, but it is much harder to make good on the aspirations. The growing collaborative law movement recognizes these difficulties and developed strategies that attorneys and their clients can use in to resolve disputes in a way that emphasizes the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect while avoiding the wrenching crucible of court. The ABA Journal article and ABA Connection teleconference will describe the concept of collaborative law, the rules it follows, and how it can be applied in a typical law practice setting.
