The unprecedented events affecting the economy in 2008 have been well documented. However, recent tax legislation that contains a number of provisions to help taxpayers caught up in the financial crisis has received less attention. This program will help participants understand these tax law rescue provisions to help your clients weather the storm.

The purpose of the program is to examine how the Internal Revenue Code is the primary source of federal help for individual property owners including the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007, low-income housing tax credits, hurricane victim relief, and relief from the Alternative Minimum Tax.
