At least three recent malpractice cases have been filed against large law firms alleging conflicts of interest, pointing to the increasing difficulty firms face when attempting to avoid conflicts. This ABA Connection program and ABA Journal article will look at the reasons why it's so hard to avoid conflicts of interest despite the implementation of sophisticated procedures intended to red flag potential conflicts. The article also will consider whether there are better ways to avoid potential conflicts.
