Kinship Care

Children in the U.S. are increasingly cared for by relative caregivers. This growing phenomenon has resulted in changes to law and practice in recent years. ABA Center on Children and the Law staff work on two projects related to kinship care.

-The Grandfamilies State Law and Policy Resource Center provides a number of resources on grandparent and other relative caregivers including a database of relevant state laws.

-The Kinship Care Legal Research Center page contains research ranging from overviews of kinship care to specific emerging issues.
