Calling all Law Students!


In case you haven't heard, the ABA Section of Business Law Spring Meeting offers great opportunities for law students. Your participation in the Section during law school will not only enhance your legal education, but will also equip you to make a smooth transition into your future career. At the Spring Meeting, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about business law through special programming for law students and by participating in various networking events. The Inside Track on Getting In-House: What it Takes to Get Through the Door

This is a free program for law students and young lawyers presented by the Committee on Corporate Counsel, the Committee on Diversity, the Committee on Career and Practice Development and the Young Lawyer Forum of the ABA Section of Business Law. This will be a lively panel discussion to learn about in-house practice and the credentials and work experience generally expected for an in-house job, plus what to expect once you're inside. There will be ample opportunity to pose that age-old question, "How Did You Land That Great In-House Job?" We encourage you to join us for the panel and for the reception immediately following, where you can network with the panelists and other in-house attorneys.

The world economy has been faced with record high oil prices while demand for oil increases. Invariably, new oil fields are being discovered in countries that have state-owned oil companies. These state-owned oil companies find themselves not only awash in revenue, but are becoming the largest oil operations in the world. This creates legal, regulatory and competitive challenge for multi-national companies attempting to operate in these foreign lands.
