Social EventsDallas Arts and The Sixth Floor Museum Thursday, April 10, 2008, 9:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Visit the assassination landmark of President John F. Kennedy and experience the permanent exhibition dealing with his life, death and legacy. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Arts District, featuring the Trammell Crows Collection of Asian Art, The Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center. Between these venues you will see one of the most comprehensive private collections of Asian art, an impressive indoor/outdoor modern sculpture exhibit, including works by Rodin and Picasso, and an inspiring comprehensive collection of African, Indonesian, impressionist, and post-impressionist European art.
Fort Worth Cultural Legends Friday, April 11, 2008, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Known for more than just stockyards, spend the day exploring the cultural side of Fort Worth. Begin the day at the National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame, dedicated to documenting the lives and pioneer spirit of women in the American West. See the Modern Art Museum with a foremost collection of post-war art. Enjoy lunch at Cafe Modern, then journey on to the Kimbell Art Museum with holdings ranging from antiquity to the 20th century, including masterpieces by Duccio, Rubens, Rembrandt, and Monet. Finally, visit the Amon Carter Museum with its large collection of American art.
Dallas Blooms at the Arboretum Saturday, April 12, 2008, 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. The Dallas Arboretum is one of the top floral display gardens in the nation. The tour begins with a visit to the 21,000 square foot Mexican hacienda and former home of petroleum geologist Everett Lee DeGolyer. Enjoy a quiet stroll through the spectacular Spring Blooms exhibit that is certain to be at peak color. See the Johnson Color Garden, the Fern Dell, and the Lay Ornamental Garden.
