Registration
The meeting registration fee allows you to attend your choice of over 80 CLE programs and committee forums and all committee and subcommittee meetings. The registration fee does not include meals served at meetings or social events identified as ticketed functions. The absolute deadline for receipt of advance registrations is February 15, 2008. The Section office must receive the registration form and payment no later than February 15, 2008, 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, in order for names to appear on the meeting roster. Registrations received after that date will be processed onsite only.



Attending this Meeting for the First Time?


If this is your first time attending the Section's Spring Meeting, here are a few suggestions to help make your meeting a success:

  • Begin the Spring Meeting with the Diversity Networking Reception on Wednesday, April 9, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Learn how to navigate the Spring Meeting and the vast array of the Section's resources and meet experts in your field. Or, just come to network and reacquaint with old friends and colleagues.

  • Attend the First-Timers' Reception on Thursday, April 10, 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Learn about the Section's many substantive committees, network with other attendees and connect with your colleagues. Meet the Section's Officers, Council and Committee Chairs and discuss the latest developments in business law and how the Section can help you in your practice. Learn all you need to know about the Section committees in one delightful hour.

  • Attend the Section's Welcome Reception on Thursday, April 10, 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Join your Business Law colleagues and meet new ones at this wonderful event. Relax and revitalize as you unwind from the events of the day at this elegant event.

  • Don't miss the Women's Business Law Network (WBLN) Sweet Endings Dessert Reception on Thursday, April 10, 10:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Come meet the women leaders of the Section and connect with the other attendees. Dessert will be compliments of the WBLN.

  • Visit the Internet Café and Expo Area to check your e-mail, relax, enjoy refreshments and check out the Section's products and services.

  • Ask questions. Members and staff alike are ready and willing to help you get active in the Section of Business Law.

*Early registration; increases to $449 after 2/15/08.




Ticketed Events
An order form for meal functions and tours appears on the reverse side of the registration form in this brochure. Ticket requests for all events must be received no later than March 20, 2008. It is advisable to purchase tickets for all desired events in advance, as many Section events sell out and there is no guarantee that tickets will be available onsite.





Want to Get Involved in the Section of Business Law? "Ask Me."
Do you have questions about the Section of Business Law? Do you want to learn more about committees and how to get involved? Do you need assistance navigating the meeting? Our Section Officers, Council and Committee Chairs will be wearing an "Ask Me" button. Please feel free to stop one of the leaders who are always open to answering questions about the meeting or the Section in general.



Accommodations
The Section has secured a room block at the Hilton Anatole. Make reservations as early as possible in order to be assured of accommodations, but definitely no later than March 20, 2008. MCLE Credit
Accreditation has been requested for this meeting from every state with mandatory continuing legal education requirements for lawyers. Please be aware that each state has its own rules and regulations, including its definition of "CLE." Certificates of attendance will be available at the conclusion of each Program or Committee Forum for both attendees and speakers. You may contact the ABA Service Center toll free at 800-285-2221 or Marcia Yarbrough at 312-988-5653 for confirmation of the number of CLE credit hours requested by the ABA or credit approved by any particular state.

Written Materials
For your convenience, all meeting attendees will receive a CD containing all original and supplementary materials at the registration desk. A limited number of hard copies of original materials will be available in the meeting room at the time of each program or committee forum.



Internet Café and Expo Area
Throughout the meeting, stop by the Section of Business Law Internet Café and Expo Area at the Hilton Anatole to check your email, relax, enjoy refreshments, and visit with colleagues. Also, be sure to check out information on Section products and services from exhibitors in the legal trade at the Business Law Expo. The Section of Business Law Internet Café and Expo Area will be open Thursday, April 10, through Saturday, April 12. All registrants and guests are welcome!
