General Information


Registration

The meeting registration fee allows registrants to attend your choice of over 60 CLE programs and committee forums and all committee and subcommittee meetings. Your registration fee does not include meals served at meetings or social events identified as ticketed functions. The absolute deadline for receipt of advance registrations is February 23, 2007. The Section office must receive the attached registration form and payment no later than February 23, 2007, 5:00 p.m. Central Standard Time , in order for your name to appear on the meeting roster. Registrations received after that date will be processed onsite only.

Attending this Meeting for the First Time?

If this is your first time attending the Section's Spring Meeting, here are a few suggestions to help you get the most out of the Spring Meeting:

  • Read the First-Timers Guide for the Spring Meeting
  • Be sure to take advantage of the special discounted registration fee of $349*—a special offer for first-time attendees!
  • Attend the Section's Welcome Reception on Thursday, March 15, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Learn about the Section's many substantive committees, network with other attendees and connect with your colleagues. Join a committee and enhance your law practice. Committee membership is free.
  • Visit the Internet Caf/Expo Area to check your e-mail, relax, enjoy refreshments and check out the Section's products and services.
  • Ask questions. Members and staff alike are ready and willing to help you get active in the Section of Business Law.

*Early registration increases to $399 after 1/19/07.





Want to Get Involved in the Section of Business Law? "Ask Me".

Do you have questions about the Section of Business Law? Do you want to learn more about committees and how to get involved? Do you need assistance navigating the meeting? Our Section Leaders will be wearing an "Ask Me" button. Please feel free to stop one of the leaders wearing a button and ask how you can become involved in the Section. Our leaders are always open to answering questions about the meeting or the Section in general.

Ticketed Events

An order form for meal functions and tours appears on the reverse side of the registration form. Ticket requests for all events must be received no later than February 23, 2007. It is advisable to purchase tickets for all desired events in advance, as many Section events do sell out and there is no guarantee that tickets will be available onsite.

Accommodations

The Section has secured a room block at both the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel and the Embassy Suites Hotel Washington, DC Convention Center. Make reservations as early as possible in order to be assured of accommodations, but definitely no later than February 19, 2007. Make room reservations by phoning the hotels directly and

asking for the discounted rates for the ABA Section of Business Law Spring Meeting.

MCLE Credit

Accreditation has been requested for this meeting from every state with mandatory continuing legal education requirements for lawyers. Please be aware that each state has its own rules and regulations, including its definition of "CLE". Certificates of attendance will be available at the conclusion of each Program or Committee Forum for both attendees and speakers. You may contact the ABA Service Center toll free at 800-285-2221 or the Meeting Registrar, Toyin Alaka, at 312-988-5564 for confirmation of the number of CLE credit hours requested by the ABA or credit approved by any particular state.

Written Materials

For your convenience, all meeting attendees will receive a CD containing all original and supplementary materials at the registration desk. A limited number of hard copies of original materials will be available in the meeting room at the time of the program or committee forum.

Throughout the meeting, stop by the Section of Business Law Internet Café/Expo Area at the Renaissance Washington DC to check your email, relax, enjoy refreshments, and visit with colleagues. Also, be sure to check out information on Section products, as information on products and services from exhibitors in the legal trade, at the Business Law Expo. The Section of Business Law Internet Café/Expo Area will be open Thursday, March 15, through Saturday, March 17. All registrants and guests are welcome!
