ABA Section of Business Law
Committee Directory
Committees
The heart of the Section lies in its 60+ committees. These committees deal
with emerging legal issues and are the force behind many developments in
business law. Each committee offers members the opportunity to meet and
work with colleagues expert in the committee's area of concentration and,
when appropriate, with government policy makers and regulators. Committees
produce programs, publications, reports, model statutes, and comments on
pending legislation. Committees meet in conjunction with ABA and Section
meetings, and several committees hold independent meetings throughout the
year.
You're probably wondering how much time you need to dedicate to committee membership. Well, you can take what you'd like from committee membership and be as involved as you want. Be an active member. Throw yourself into it. Head up a task force. Your investment stands to gain sizeable returns. If you're short on time and are being pulled in too many directions, become less involved. Less involved is better than not involved at all. Just by joining a committee you'll have access to the latest developments in that area. Think of what you're missing by not joining, and then think of what your clients are missing. It's up to you. Read through our Committee Guide |
