Section sound bites

It’s time for Philly

The Philadelphia Spring Meeting is just weeks away. A full schedule of exciting events have been planned. For detailed information on the CLE programs, committee and subcommittee meetings as well as social events, check out the Section’s Web site at www.abanet.org/buslaw. See our ad about the meeting on pages 46-47 of this issue for event highlights. The Section Spring Meeting is simply the best educational, informational and networking event of the year.

Flashback to the ’50s

If you registered for the Spring Meeting, but did not purchase a Section Dinner ticket, you’ll want to send an e-mail request right away to blregister@abanet.org to reserve your ticket. You won’t want to miss this one as it won’t be any run-of-the-mill meal. This flashback to the ’50s will feature "Bowser" of the "Sha Na Na" television show and the movie "Grease." There will also be other great live music, roller skaters, bobby soxers, and other tributes to the ’50s. So pull out the poodle skirts and leather jackets and get ready to rock — Business Law style.

For minority lawyers

The Section of Business Law — in cooperation with the Section of Litigation and the ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession — will cosponsor the "Second National Conference for the Minority Lawyer: A Unique Program for Business Lawyers, Litigators and In-House Counsel," June 18-19, at the Renaissance Mayflower in Washington.

The inaugural conference, held in San Francisco last year, was a huge success, and this year’s conference promises to be equally exciting. This two-day program will include practical training programs and substantive CLE programming sessions designed specifically for minority business lawyers and litigators.
