A pro bono manual
The Section of Business Laws Committee on Pro Bono, in partnership with the National Legal Aid Defenders Association (NLADA), sponsors a major field service program entitled A Business Commitment (ABC). ABC speeds the provision of business-related pro bono services to legal services programs and community organizations. ABC recently developed and released the comprehensive "how to" manual, Starting and Operating a Business Law Pro Bono Project, to help other communities develop their own successful business law pro bono programs.
In addition to the nuts and bolts of starting a new project, the manual highlights success stories from various projects that have worked. The ABC manual is designed to allow other communities to develop their own projects tailored to local needs and the resources available to develop a staffed program. It also features a directory of resources and technical assistance providers. This manual is a practical, must-have tool for those interested in creating a pro bono business law entity and in making a difference in their community.
To view a copy of the manual, visit the Sections
