The annual "Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award" is given to a woman member of the Section who has achieved professional excellence in her field, demonstrated dedication to the work of the Section, and has been actively involved in the mentoring of, and served as a role model for other women members of the Section. Mendes Hershman Writing Contest

This writing contest was created to encourage and reward law student writings on a business law subject of general and current interest. Annually (February 1 submission deadline), each ABA-accredited law school, acting through its dean, is asked to nominate a paper considering aspects of business law by a student enrolled in the law school. The papers will be judged on research and analysis, choice of topic, writing style, originality, and contribution to the literature available on the topic.

National Public Service Award

The Pro Bono Committee of the Section of Business Law sponsors the National Public Service Award, which is presented annually to individuals, and firms or corporate legal departments that have demonstrated a commitment to providing free legal services to the poor in a business context. Read more...
CLEO Scholarship

For the past five years, the Diversity Committee, through the Section of Business Law, has awarded four to five $1,000 scholarships annually to CLEO Fellow Scholars. CLEO Fellow Scholars are selected based on an essay competition to attend the Business Law Section's Spring Meeting. The CLEO Fellow Scholar must be a first or second year law student that participated in a CLEO pre-law summer institute program, is a member of the ABA Law Student Division and is interested in pursuing a career in business law. It is the hope that upon graduation, the CLEO Fellow Scholars will remain actively involved in the Business Law Section. Read more...
