Simply the Best CLE Available
Focus on the hottest commercial and business law issues of the day while earning an entire year's worth of CLE requirements. The Spring Meeting offers you the chance to attend a broad range of CLE programs devoted solely to the practice of business law. Your participation at any of the over 60 CLE programs will bring you to date on the issues relevant to your practice. You'll learn the latest from the experts in business law and you are guaranteed to receive the information both you and your clients need. Simply the best and most economical CLE available.

Over 60 meeting events designated as "Programs" or "Committee Forums" scheduled Thursday through Saturday will be eligible for CLE accreditation. A Program is an educational presentation, usually in panel format, sponsored by one or more Section committees. A Committee Forum is an educational presentation by one or more speakers, which is normally sponsored by a single Section committee and is targeted to individuals with an expertise in the substantive area of that committee. Topics for both will cover up-to-the-minute issues and will run the gamut of business law.

Specialized Committee and Subcommittee Meetings
Committee and subcommittee meetings allow you the opportunity to enhance your knowledge in specific areas of the law. These specialized meetings provide updates on the latest substantive developments in virtually all areas of business law. These are excellent meetings to network with colleagues who share your interests and practice concerns. Over 200 committee and subcommittee meetings are planned and are an ideal forum to meet and network with others who practice in your specialty area.

Law Student Activities
Calling all Law Students! In case you haven't heard, the Section Spring Meeting offers great opportunities for law students. We believe your participation in the Section during law school will not only enhance your legal education, but will also equip you to make a smooth transition into your future career. At the Spring Meeting, you'll have the opportunity to learn more about business law through special programming for law students and by participating in networking events. And if that's not enough, Spring Meeting registration is FREE to all ABA Law Student Division members. Check out our law student website at www.abanet.org/buslaw/forlawstudents.html for more details on Spring Meeting activities!

The Women's Business Law Network Subcommittee of the Committee on Diversity is sponsoring a special program for law students called, "SURVIVOR: How to Outwit, Outlast and Outplay in the Legal World" on Saturday, April 2, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. This program is designed to teach law students what they need to know to get a job after law school; learn what to expect about firm/office life; and how to move on if the job isn't satisfying. This program is a "can't miss" for law students. It is cosponsored by the Young Lawyer Forum, the Law School Initiative, and the Committee on Banking Law.

Welcome to Music City USA!
What better way to showcase Music City USA than the Section's Welcome Reception at the Country Music Hall of Fame! Whether you call it country music, American roots music, or folk music, it's still the music of the people and it's all here for you to explore at the Section of Business Law Welcome Reception on Thursday, March 31, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Just a short walk from the hotel—arrive early to explore this beautiful new museum steeped in history and lore of America's own music, embodied by such country giants as Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams, Garth Brooks and Loretta Lynn. You don't have to be a diehard country music fan to enjoy the Country Music Hall of Fame! All attendees and guests are welcome.

Section Luncheon
When planning your schedule for the upcoming Spring Meeting, make sure to include the Section Lunch, Friday, April 1 from Noon-2:00pm. We are excited to announce that this year's luncheon will feature former US Senator and television personality Fred Thompson.

Thompson takes the complexities of domestic and international finance, global trade and the all-important issues of national security and homeland defense and clarifies them with his personable, entertaining style. Serving the people of Tennessee in the US Senate from 1994-2002, Thompson was a member of the Senate Finance Committee and the Governmental Affairs Committee where he was active in the investigation of Enron. Building on this experience as well as the experience of serving as junior counsel to the Watergate Commission, and most recently as a regular player on the NBC drama Law & Order, Thompson will share humorous and amusing anecdotes of the famous and infamous that no one else can provide.

During the luncheon, the Section will also honor the winners of the National Public Service Awards and the Jean Allard Glass Cutter Award and will honor the authors of recently published books.

Section Dinner at the Parthenon? - SOLD OUT!
Yes, the Parthenon! Nashville is home to the only full-scale replica of the Greek Parthenon in existence, and we are holding our Section Dinner amid its columns on Friday, April 1, at 7:00 p.m. Originally built for Tennessee's 1897 Centennial Exposition, this replica of the original Parthenon in Athens serves as a monument to what is considered the pinnacle of classical architecture. From cocktails at Athena's feet to live country music from one of the classics...this Section Dinner is one not to be missed!
