The Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) seeks a proactive, creative, entrepreneurial and results-oriented individual who possesses a strong work ethic and integrity above reproach. The Executive Director will need to lead a multi-faceted organization by engaging and inspiring a dedicated and talented staff. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work in a demanding yet professionally rewarding environment where success will be substantially dependent on teambuilding and personal management skills.
Duties
The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of PBI. Key responsibilities include internal management, external affairs, and coordination with the President, Officers and the Board of Directors. The challenge of this position is to provide dynamic leadership through the exercise of effective organizational and management skills, with a view toward maintaining PBI's status as a preeminent state provider of continuing legal education in a highly competitive environment.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to lead a fully engaged nonprofit educational organization serving 45,000 in state licensed and 15,000 out of state licensed Pennsylvania lawyers and members of the Pennsylvania judiciary. The prospective Executive Director should demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all members and leaders of the legal community including practitioners, judges and members of the academic community. He/she will work effectively with members of the bench and bar in all segments of the legal community to foster the development and growth of continuing legal education. Candidates may come from the legal, academic, not-for-profit, government, corporate or public sectors or professional services firms. Experience in the CLE field is required.
