Meredyth Smith Andrus
Meredyth Smith Andrus is an Assistant Attorney General in the
Antitrust Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General.
She has been in antitrust enforcement for fourteen years, primarily
in the health care field. Prior to joining the government, she
practiced commercial litigation with Semmes Bowen & Semmes
in Baltimore. Ms. Andrus has taken a prominent role in recent
multistate investigations and litigation in the pharmaceutical
industry and has worked closely in cooperation with federal antitrust
enforcers in several of those cases.
Ms. Andrus has extensive experience counseling state health care
professional licensing boards and has written and spoken on state
action immunity.
She earned her JD in 1985 from Cornell Law School, her BA in
1978 from Cornell University and her MFA in dance in 1981 from
Sarah Lawrence College. She is admitted to the bars of the State
of Maryland, the U.S. District Court of the District of Maryland
and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
