NB: FROM THE EDITOR

WELCOME to the August issue of The Antitrust Source.

The Federal Trade Commission plays a critical role in antitrust enforcement and consumer protection. This issue features an interview with FTC Chairman William Kovacic, who discusses in great depth and candor his vision for the FTC, its priorities, and the challenges the institution will face in the future.

As a special feature, we continue a conversation that began at the 2008 Spring Meeting in Washington, by asking leading lawyers, judges, professors, and economists to recommend Required Reading for the New Antitrust Administration.

In addition to these articles, this issue includes a review of Antitrust Stories, a recent collection edited by Eleanor Fox and Daniel Crane, and The Paper Trail, our recurring summary and analysis of recent scholarship in law and economics.

The Source would like to extend its appreciation to Kathryn M. Fenton, the outgoing Antitrust Section Chair, for her tremendous leadership and support this year.

The editorial board of The Source values each of our contributors and continually seeks interesting high-quality submissions. If you are interested in contributing an article or perspective to The Source, we invite you to e-mail us at antitrust@att.net.
