 Section of Antitrust Law

Antitrust Membership

Membership Information and Benefits

Benefits of Membership in the Antitrust Section
Message from the Section Chair

The Section of Antitrust Law is dedicated to providing its members the people and the resources to enhance their professional development and practices. Our membership is a diverse one, including government, private practice (large and small law firm), corporate, international, and academic, and spans a broad array of professionals and geographies. While our common focus is on antitrust law, we come to it from many perspectives – including fulltime merger or litigation practices as well as those seeking either general background or highly specialized insights into antitrust related issues on a periodic basis. Our programs, publications, networks (listservs and personal connections), research tools (SAL), and committee structures are designed to serve all of these needs. Our goal is to provide a community of colleagues sharing a common zeal for excellence in our profession and the means to enhance expertise.

This page is dedicated to you – whether you are a new member, one considering membership, or a longstanding one seeking advice on member benefits. On this page, and elsewhere on the Section website, are the people and the resources – and links to them, that can assist you. Welcome to the Section of Antitrust Law!

Ilene Knable Gotts, Chair, Section of Antitrust Law
American Bar Association 2009-2010

The MEO Committee welcomes you to learn more about the benefits that the Antitrust Section can provide to you as a professional interested in antitrust issues and practice. We showcase here some individual perspectives on these benefits as well as links to Committees and resources that serve your needs. Welcome!!

Why should I be a member of the Antitrust Section?

Why is the section relevant to state antitrust enforcement attorneys?

"State enforcement attorneys can advance their knowledge of the law, keep on top of new developments and network with other members of the antitrust bar by getting involved and staying involved with the Antitrust Section . . . . "

CLE/Brown Bags

CLE

Extensive CLE takes place at the Section's Annual Spring Meeting. Every year the Section offers three days of CLE featuring speakers who are experts in the field of antitrust law. In addition to our Spring Meeting we have several stand-alone CLE programs throughout the year in various locations. Section members receive a substantial discount to all Section sponsored CLE programs.

Brown Bag Programs

As a benefit to Antitrust Section members, Brown Bag programs are available in an MP3 format at no charge. Section members will also be able to download the MP3 file to their own computers and then transfer the content onto a portable MP3 player (such as an iPod or other digital audio player), or burn it to a CD.
