Chris McNeil has been appointed chairman of the
Administrative Law committee of the Ohio State Bar Association.
He also joined the faculty of Capital University Law School,
where he teaches research and writing.
Stephen D. Potts, formerly a partner with the Washington
law firm of Shaw, Pittman, Potts, & Trowbridge, has been appointed
by President Clinton to a second five-year term as Director of
the United States Office of Government Ethics (OGE). The OGE
is responsible for administering the ethics program of the executive
branch.
Joel P. Bennett, Vice Chair of the Law Practice
Management Section of the ABA, has been appointed an adjunct professor
of law at the District of Columbia School of Law. He began teaching
Law Office Management there in January. The Bar Association of
the District of Columbia published the third edition of Mr. Bennett's
How to Start and Build a Law Practice in the District of Columbia
early this year.
President Clinton has appointed Margaret Gilhooley
to serve on a seven-member, statutorily created Commission on
Dietary Supplement Labels. The Commission is to provide recommendations
on label claims for dietary supplements. Ms. Gilhooley is a Professor
at Seton Hall University School of Law and the only law professor
on the Commission.
Council Member Susan Braden of Ingersoll &
Bloch was identified as one of several D.C. lawyers instrumental
in former Senator Dole's successful Republican Presidential primary
wins.
