DINNER FEATURING THE SOLICITOR GENERAL

Clement

The Honorable Paul Clement, Solicitor General of the United States, will keynote the Section’s Dinner.  Mr. Clement was confirmed as Solicitor General in June 2005.  Prior to that Clement served as Acting Solicitor General for nearly a year and as Principal Deputy Solicitor General. He has argued over 30 cases before the United States Supreme Court, including McConnell v. FEC, Tennessee v. Lane, Rumsfeld v. Padilla, United States v. Booker and Gonzales v. Raich. He also argued many of the key cases in the lower courts involving challenges to the President’s conduct of the war on terrorism.

During the dinner, Randolph J. May, President of the Free State Foundation and Past Section Chair, will be inducted as the newest Section Fellow.
