GP/SOLO DIVISION CREATES NEW TELECONFERENCE SERIES, PRACTICE BUILDERS, FOR DIVISION MEMBERS
To help meet the needs of the nation’s solo and small firm lawyers, who account for nearly two-thirds of all practicing lawyers, the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division has developed a monthly CLE teleconference series that allows solo and small firm lawyers to access high-quality, relevant programming without ever having to leave their desks.
The “Practice Builder” series builds a topic in installments of three or four programs a year. Each teleconference on a topic builds on the next so that a participant can progress through the content and cover the topic more thoroughly. For example, a technology series might include the selection of computer hardware for the first program, selection of software in the next, and then tips on how to get the most out of your selections in the third program.
Each program in the series also includes a facilitated follow-up Q & A session on the Division’s SoloSez email discussion list, and a Monday Morning Exercise Program, which provides participants with a list of action items to complete prior to the next program in the series.
The “Practice Builder” series is held the first Thursday of the month. Past programs have included topical series on exercising one’s options regarding case management software and how to diagnose and treat ethical dilemmas in one’s law practice. All past programs are available for purchase at the ABA Web store.
