40. ABA CENTER PROVIDES ETHICS OUTREACH AND SERVICE TO ABA MEMBERS; LAUNCHES NEW MONTHLY COLUMN
Thousands of ABA members with ethical dilemmas have received assistance from lawyers at the ETHICSearch research service, provided through the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility. In 2006 ETHICSearch also began a new monthly column, “Eye on Ethics,” which appears in every issue of YourABA, the new electronic newsletter for members. Each column answers one ethical question in depth, and links members to relevant resources both within and outside of the ABA.
Additional educational opportunities were also offered this year as the Center hosted its 32nd National Conference on Professional Responsibility. Topics such as online delivery of legal services, conflicts screening, disaster preparedness, and leaving a law firm were addressed by the country’s leading scholars, jurists, and specialists in the professional responsibility field.
