27. TAX SECTION BUILDS WEB SITE FOR TAXPAYERS

Part of the Section of Taxation mission statement is to “serve ourmembers and the public through education and leadership to achieve an equitable, efficient, and workable tax system.”  Toward that end, the Section developed an independent Web site, TaxTips4U, geared toward helping taxpayers keep abreast of changes in tax law and updates on issues affecting their filing.

TaxTips4U provides information for individuals, charitable organizations, non-profits and small businesses, to assist in educating them about new tax issues and helping with their tax planning.  Periodically, the Tax Section also develops television and radio news releases on consumer related issues, and posts relevant information on those topics on TaxTips4U.
