19. HOW TO USE PARALEGALS TO IMPROVE YOUR PRACTICE 

During fiscal year 2005-2006, the ABA Standing Committee on Paralegals published “The Economic Benefits of Paralegal Utilization.” The publication demonstrates how to quantify profits achieved through paralegal utilization, improve a law firm’s return on investment in a paralegal, generate greater client satisfaction and retention through paralegal utilization, sidestep the dangers of turnover, increase the lawyer’s billing rates, and improve quality of life for everyone in the firm.  The materials include speaker's written course outline together with a bibliography of relevant reading materials and glossary of pertinent terms. A model PowerPoint presentation is included, and the materials are structured to provide a one and one-half hour presentation that can be used as a stand-alone session or in combination with other teaching aids.
