12. ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM – FROM LAW SCHOOLS TO COURTROOMS

From law schools to the courtrooms, projects and priorities of the ABA Center for Professional Responsibility and its committees have provided national leadership to the legal community.

The 2006 Report on a Survey of Law School Professionalism Programs [PDF] was sponsored by the Standing Committee on Professionalism as part of its mission to encourage and provide assistance to state and local bar associations, law schools, the judiciary and all members of the legal community in their efforts to improve lawyer professionalism. The Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility continued its work to develop ethics opinions on issues affecting the legal community, and the Joint Commission to Evaluate the Model Code of Judicial Conduct is completing its report and recommendations for ABA House of Delegates action in early 2007.
