This publication is a compendium of the majority of LAP Programs in the United States. It reflects both the commonality of the programs and their diversity. Mental health counseling - If you, another law student, a lawyer, or a judge you know is suffering from stress, depression, or any other mental health problems, call the ABA Service Center at 800-285-2221 and ask for the Commission on Lawyer Assistance Programs at extension 5359. The commission staff can give you the phone number of the lawyer assistance program in your area from which you can obtain confidential assistance.
