The recent worldwide financial crisis has raised fundamental questions about the wisdom of free market/laissez faire policies and the effectiveness of Adam Smith's "invisible hand." What lessons can be learned as we rake through the embers of an unprecedented era of market deregulation and un-regulation? How can we avoid the mistakes of the past? This program will consider what regulatory responses are appropriate and what role industry-specific and general regulatory regimes, such as the antitrust and securities laws, should play in the new world regulatory order. It will also consider what private sector responses are appropriate, including corporate governance, enforcement of ethical standards, and risk management systems.
This audio CD package includes 2 audio CDs and printed course materials.
