Technology continually evolves and we're constantly bombarded by ads for new technology that promise speed, efficiency, and convenience. A successful technology upgrade depends on a series of decisions that accurately assesses your particular situation.
Initially, you need to determine whether you should upgrade or just keep what you have. Many practitioners can slip into a technology "money pit" if they do not perform this assessment. The second decision is "when to upgrade?" It seems no matter when you buy new technology two things will occur: (1) implementing technology will take more time and cost more than you bargained for; and (2) whatever you get and whenever you get it, a better version will come out in the not too distant future. If the analysis of the "whether" and "when" decisions suggests that you should upgrade, you need to decide how best (most effectively and most efficiently) to implement what you purchase, and get the most out of your investment.
After listening to this teleconference and reading the program materials, you will be able to complete a decision making process for deciding when and how to implement new technology by:- Identifying the issues that are important in deciding whether to upgrade your technology
- Exploring the pros and cons of when to make the move
- Planning the implementation of your new technology
This online course includes downloadable course materials.
