This program will give an overview of financing techniques for affordable housing transactions and will explain credit financing in practical terms.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to understand how affordable housing transactions are financed with federal low-income housing tax credits. HOPE VI funds, CDBG funds, HOME funds, CFFP Funds, as well as other financing techniques will be discussed. Additionally, the special benefits and risks associated with lending on tax credit properties are explained. An example of how a tax credit project is financed with 9% tax credits and conventional financing will be covered.
This program is designed for attorneys in the real estate and finance areas who want an introduction to the special issues involved in affordable housing.
