To apply the rules of electronic discovery, counsel must
acquire a basic understanding of the electronically stored information (ESI) potentially at issue in a case and how that information can be preserved,
collected, and produced. Organizations that actively prepare for electronic discovery will have strategic advantages over their less-prepared opponents
and will ultimately reduce the cost and risk associated with e-discovery.
While new technology has been a driving force behind
distance education, there is little doubt that, at least until recently, copyright law has been viewed as a significant hindrance to its development.

More than any other type of lawsuit, an aviation case
can often conjure vivid images in the minds of jurors. Most jurors have flown on commercial passenger flights and possibly have undertaken some
recreational flying as a pilot or passenger. Depending on the experience and background of the jurors, aviation cases can be unlike cases where jurors
have no personal experience with the technology at issue. This familiarity can increase the likelihood that jurors will apply preconceived notions
about the dynamics of aircraft operations, piloting, and other issues. Learn how best to present this sometimes complicated information.
Completing an emergency manual and the planning
documents will help the solo or small firm lawyer’s family or estate preserve the value of a law practice should something happen to you. No
matter how you collect the necessary information, the process for creating and storing the information must have the following attributes: (1) it must
be kept in a safe place; (2) you must be able to get to it to keep it updated; and (3) someone besides you must be able to retrieve it if something
happens to you.
