Letter from the Publisher

Dear Colleague:

We constantly look for ways to bring you as much information as possible about our books and other products, so that you can make an informed buying decision. It's our belief that the high quality of each of our products will become more and more apparent the more you find out about what's inside that product. For some time now, we've included the full table of contents plus an excerpt for many of our products, so you can get a flavor of what's inside. And we keep trying to think of new ways to increase the amount of information you, the customer, has about each product. (Among other things, it's the philosophy behind this Inside Practice newsletter.)

With this in mind, and in keeping with this month's theme of "new beginnings," I'd like to tell you about two projects we've been working on--one completed and one in progress.

We're excited to announce the first ABA Book Briefs Podcast, broadcast earlier this month and available for download in the ABA Web store. This first podcast is an interview with Mark Herrmann, a Cleveland, Ohio, litigator with the Jones Day firm and the author of The Curmudgeon's Guide to Practicing Law. Mark discusses how he created the Curmudgeon persona, how young law firm associates can best succeed, and other issues. It's a great way to get to know the author of this best-selling book.

Future podcasts are scheduled to appear once a month, and the lineup for the coming months includes George Paul, co-author of The Discovery Revolution, and George Kaufman, author of The Lawyer's Guide to Balancing Life and Work. You can subscribe to the ABA Book Briefs Podcast by visiting the ABA Web store or by visiting iTunes.

The second exciting initiative, in progress and scheduled to be completed this summer, is an enhanced ability to access more material inside the book--the table of contents, longer selected excerpts, even index and cover copy--inspired by Amazon.com's "Look Inside the Book" feature. Look for this new and informative feature on many of our product pages in the coming months.

Thank you for making the ABA's Web store the preeminent destination for legal information.

Sincerely,

Bryan Kay
