In observance of World AIDS Day 2002, the ABA AIDS Coordinating Committee convened a roundtable of experts and advocates to discuss "Stigma, Discrimination, and the Future of HIV/AIDS Law, Policy, and Advocacy." The following testimonials about stigma and discrimination, written by lawyers and advocates who are personally and/or professionally affected by HIV/AIDS, are an outgrowth of that discussion.

This Testimonials Project is ongoing, posting new testimonials as they are received to build an open and honest dialogue about HIV/AIDS and, in that way, help reduce the stigma and discrimination still fueling the pandemic. Also part of the project are statements issued or activities undertaken by others around the world to address stigma and discrimination.
